When I was a kid in Europe, I could only afford to buy cheap comic books that were sometimes printed with only one color or had color registration errors. So now I really like that look and I tried to use it in this week's comic. I also did two slightly different variations for mobile and web so you can compare them. I hope you like it!

Congrats to Eddy Obomsawin of Quebec, for winning the first prize in ourBelgium Comics Contest last month! Eddy answered the tricky question of naming all the characters in the drawing below in French! (I guess he had a little advantage of being in a French speaking part of the country 😉 His prize was a signed ICECUBES book. Thanks for sending us the picture Eddy! 🙂

Here’s the original drawing for Michael Pohrer, who won second prize in the Belgium Comics Contest. In this drawing I put Lucky Luke, a Smurf and Spirou along with Eggman, Peckinpaw and Freeze. Thanks to everyone who participated and congrats to the winners!

Yes, I could have filled the black in Photoshop with one click, but just think how soul deadening that would be… Black ink is the life blood of ICECUBES the comic strip. Nothing can take its place! Original art for this comic is available. This is a unique piece, only one exists. This is not a digital file, this is not a print. Black India ink on Strathmore 400, 2 ply vellum, traces of pencil, titanium white paint, and blue pencil. 15″ x 5″. Signed and dated. $100.00 + shipping.
