  1. Nicely done there Leroy. Is that real time or time lapsed. Just kidding.

    1. Ha ha thanks Bugs, it’s actually slow motion 😉

    2. I hope you don’t mind that I called you Bugs? I just really like the name of your comic!

  2. Love the animation….Great…

  3. Just fab, Leroy! Very creative!

    1. Thank you Mark! It was fun to do. 🙂

  4. Love this. Great way to show your process. -v

    1. Thanks Vince, I don’t normally scan the pencil of the comic, since I use real ink but this pencil was appealing and I thought if I mess up the ink at least I have the scan to prove that the original drawing was good 😉 Then I came up with the idea to animate all 3 stages.

  5. Cool stuff Mr. Brown!

  6. Very Good Effects!
    Keep up the good work.

    1. Cheers Mr CPU! 🙂 Thank you so much for the nice comments.

Comic strip blocking.

ICECUBES ‘Blocking’ just means blocking out how the action gets laid out on the page. In this case I was trying to work out the way Peckinpaw tripped and fell by making the gesture and movement read well in the limited amount of space of the 13″ x 4″ strip. Some artists call this the storyboarding stage. It’s real important to do this before you start drawing the real strip or else you will be erasing and restarting a lot. I always try to avoid a lot of erasing because it can introduce smudges that are hard to get rid of. It can also mess up the surface of the paper making it harder to ink. You can see click on the final published strip here.
