Summer!

Posted on July 23, 2013 by Leroy Brown

Hey friends! Here's a quick drawing I did while sitting at my table at a comic convention recently. I was inspired by the hot summer we're having. Speaking of temperature, some cool things are happening for ICECUBES. This September I will be part of a comics symposium hosted by the University of Houston-Clear Lake. It should be a lot of fun with great art and great talks by fellow cartoonists. Also premiering this summer is the Happy Comics comics page appearing in print in the Kingwood Monthly newspaper, featuring ICECUBES, Zombie Boy, Urban Jungle, Jim Corn and Spudcomics. It's great to see some 'cool' comics in print for the first time! So sit back and enjoy the warm weather and watch for more ICECUBES news coming real soon! :) Leroy Brown

No 4th of July is complete without snowballs! This stand is even ‘cooler’ than Nooky’s 😉 Just look at that kid, he can hardly wait!

Posted on June 6, 2014 by Leroy Brown

I’m running out of the first printing of ICECUBES the Book. A lot went at the last 2 conventions and very few Numbered Artist Editions are left. In fact I have 8 numbered books left and here are the numbers: 170 / 176 / 177 / 178 / 186 / 195 / 192 / 198. Email me with the number you want. I will sign every book! 🙂

Menil Fest 2014.

Posted on May 9, 2014 by Leroy Brown

I was really happy to be part of the Menil Fest in Houston last week. The Menil is one of the greatest free art museums in Houston and to be part of the Indie Book Fair was great. I met a lot of new people and reconnected with friends like Jason Poland of Robby & Bobbie and Shane Patrick Boyle. I would also like to thank Stacey Kirages for including some of my cartoons in the new Zine Fest Houston Compilation! 🙂

Newspaper Stack!

Posted on April 24, 2014 by Leroy Brown

That’s what I like to see, a stack of newspapers featuring Dizzy Comics! Dizzy Comics is our great new independent syndicate and guild of like-minded cartoonists. Dizzy Comics is all about getting printed in more papers and being seen on more websites. We’re small and we’re indie and we’re growing! 🙂

Paul Terry was one of the most prolific cartoon creators in animation history. Everyone remembers Heckle and Jeckle and Mighty Mouse! 🙂

Here is the comics page for May in my local paper. Thanks go out to Mark Stokes, Michael Hawkins, Lonnie Easterling and Dave Wilborn for their great contributions! It’s a blast to be able to get these comics in print. 🙂
