Sad…

Posted on February 12, 2025 by Leroy Brown

Dear ICECUBES friends, it is with a very sad heart that I share with you that my dearly beloved wife passed away during the Christmas holidays. This has been very difficult for me and it is hard to even gather the courage to draw. I will try my best in the coming weeks to do more ICECUBES strips, but for now I just want to say thank you for being fans and God bless.

I’m so sorry, Leroy. I can’t imagine what you must be going through emotionally, etc. All my best to you, and I hope and pray you’ll be ok. I just came across your channel today. I watched one of the traditional inking segments, and really got a lot out of it; really enjoyed it. Many, many thanks.

Dear Tim, thank you very much for your message. I am so glad you enjoyed watching the video. I will try and do more on the traditional pen & ink style that I use. All the best!

Check out this panel from the really great webcomic Zombie Boy by Mark Stokes. Can you spot Peckinpaw? Go read the full strip here and put Zombie Boy in your top ten list of comics to check out daily!

Another ‘cool’ close-up!

In other words, trying to figure out a/ which strips to feature in the book, b/ which order to put the strips in, c/ which order to put the pages in. There are 175 strips featured, spanning almost 4 years of ICECUBES. So the challenge is to put them in a sequence that makes sense. A lot of cutting and pasting old school style with scissors and glue! 😉

Scanning & Coloring for the Book!

Posted on March 29, 2012 by Leroy Brown

These days I have been busy re-scanning all the strips for the book. They were originally scanned at 150dpi for the web but need to be re-scanned at 600dpi for the book… Oh well, I won’t make that mistake again! I then need to clean and color all 170 strips. Quite a job! As you can see from the brace on my right hand, it’s taking a toll. All this computer work is giving me a bad case of carpal tunnel syndrome… But, have no fear, you won’t be disappointed because ICECUBES the Book is coming out real soon and will be a huge success! 🙂 Leroy Brown
