ICECUBES the comic strip #358

Hello friends, here's a new ICECUBES strip! It has been difficult for me to carve out the time to do strips on a more regular basis. The fact is that my day job takes up all of my time. For me to be able to spend more time drawing ICECUBES, the strip would need to make money. Right now the only source of revenue is from subscribers. For only $1 a month you can support the strip and read all the classic ICECUBES strips as well as members-only posts.

The other revenue is from clicks on the ads on the website. Although that only amounts to a few pennies per click, if the site could get more ad clicks it would make a big difference. So by all means click on the ads!

My hope is that in the near future I will be able to put together the Kickstarter campaign for the new book. That will be a big boost to the comic and I'm sure you are eager to get a new book as well. Additionally, I am open for commissions. For only $20 you get an original Leroy Brown drawing! Finally, the original art for the comic strips is always for sale. If you can't find it at the store, just send me an email to see if the strip you want is available. Dallas Webcomic Expo

ICECUBES had a table at Strip-The Dallas Webcomic Expo on Saturday, Aug. 6. We had a real good time and got to meet some great folks. Leroy Brown drawing a commission. I drew some commissions and got to meet great ICECUBES fans. It’s really a lot of fun to meet people who read and enjoy ICECUBES the comic strip.

Brian Powers, Leroy Brown, Mark Stokes. I met fellow cartoonists Mark Stokes who draws Zombie Boy Comics (http://www.zombieboycomics.com/) and Brian Powers who draws Liltoon (http://liltoon.com/tv/) Brad Diller who draws Funday Morning Cartoons (http://cartoons.fundaymorning.com/) and Kit Lively (http://www.kitlively.com). You should definitely check out their comics.

Security was tight! I need to mention that I also met Hector Cantu who writes the syndicated strip Baldo, Chris Jeffery from Cartridge Comics as well as David Wilborn from Urban Jungle who very graciously introduced himself. Hello folks, we’re getting ready for Dallas Webcomics Con, otherwise known as Strip. This should be a lot of fun. We will have a small table and I will be there to meet and greet. I will present my Kickstarter project for ICECUBES the Book! And I will be drawing for those fans who might like a signed ICECUBES drawing! Welcome back friends! You surely noticed we were off the air for a short time while we changed web hosts. We are very excited to be with our new host Hostgator. I’m not trying to make an ad for them, but they have been so helpful that I just want to extend my thanks! Restoring the database meant that we used a backup so the last comic didn’t make the cut, so here it is in all it’s glory. Befittingly, the theme is happiness. Happiness for me is getting ICECUBES back up and running! Hooray!! Thanks for being patient and as we redesign the site to be even better, I hope you’ll feel the love! 🙂 Leroy Brown
