Here is the very first sketch I did of the idea I had for the ‘Moon’ strip.

… and here’s the sketch I made after all my preliminary drawings were done.

For theses drawings I looked at some moon base architecture and technology from Nasa.

Recently I did a strip that was a little out of left field. I had the idea for a long time and didn’t really know how I was going to illustrate it. So I decided to do a lot of preliminary drawings to see if I could pull it off. I really like the result and so I thought I could share some of the process with you this week. First drawing: crater study with brush and ink.

Cool Drive-In!

We found an old fashioned drive-in to go to. It was lots of fun and they had pretty awesome paintings on the side of the food building… thought I would share. 🙂

Mr. Soda Pop! The popcorn guy was pretty good too!

Comicpalooza!

We had a great time at Comicpalooza 2011 in Houston, Texas! I got to meet some talented artists and comic insiders including Bob Layton (Iron Man) and Don Kramer (Wonder Woman). Boy if I had more disposable income I would have definitely scooped up some original art! Here are some candid pics from Comicpalooza. 🙂
