ICECUBES the comic strip #309

Pogo was a comic strip that I remember seeing in the papers a long time ago. Although I couldn't really understand what it was all about, I really enjoyed the drawings. Did you know that Walt Kelly worked for Disney before starting Pogo? That probably explains why his drawings are so good. The reason Pogo was confusing for a little kid was that the words were always so complicated. It was clearly directed at an adult audience (the kind that read newspapers obviously) and not kids. I learned to better appreciate it later on in life and still love the drawings.

Today's ICECUBES comic strip is a tribute to those Pogo style tongue twisters and so now you know.

Menil Fest 2014.

ICECUBES Menil Fest I was really happy to be part of the Menil Fest in Houston last week. The Menil is one of the greatest free art museums in Houston and to be part of the Indie Book Fair was great. I met a lot of new people and reconnected with friends like Jason Poland of Robby & Bobbie and Shane Patrick Boyle. I would also like to thank Stacey Kirages for including some of my cartoons in the new Zine Fest Houston Compilation! πŸ™‚

Dizzy Comics newspapers That’s what I like to see, a stack of newspapers featuring Dizzy Comics! Dizzy Comics is our great new independent syndicate and guild of like-minded cartoonists. Dizzy Comics is all about getting printed in more papers and being seen on more websites. We’re small and we’re indie and we’re growing! πŸ™‚
