Gone Fishing!
Posted on September 1, 2015 by Leroy Brown
Dear ICECUBES friends, No doubt you have been wondering aloud "why haven't there been any new ICECUBES comic strips lately?" The reason unfortunately is that I have been ill. Of course being not only the author, but also the publisher, colorist, promoter and webmaster of ICECUBES when I am out of commission the strip truly goes silent. There isn't a contingency plan, like hiring another cartoonist or running funny cat videos. I decided not to post classic ICECUBES strips either. So the strip goes silent for awhile. Add to that the fact that I need to work on my paying jobs every now and then so I can continue to afford sandwiches! As if those weren't decent enough excuses, I must also inform you that the computer I use to scan the comics is kaput! Yep, broken. It is I admit a very old machine but such is the life of the artist. Thankfully, my dear friends, you have made the latest ICECUBES book "THE i'S HAVE IT!" a runaway success and the first print run is completely sold out! I am so grateful for the support and attachment you have shown for ICECUBES. Of course if you believe that fixing the old computer might help get more ICECUBES strips published, feel free to become a Patron on Patreon. For only $1 a month you can help make sure I get my fill of sandwiches and my computer gets an oil change! Thanks so much for being such great fans of ICECUBES, it's just awesome! :) Leroy Brown

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

ICECUBES Christmas Original Art Dear Wonderful ICECUBES Fans! I decided to create a special Christmas Comic since it’s been such an unusual year. I just wanted to thank you all for the support and love you have shown towards ICECUBES for so long. In celebration of the season I have also decided to sell the original art for this comic. It is drawn, inked and painted by hand on a 11″x17″ Canson Fan Boy blueline comic page. India ink and watercolors were used. Bluelines are showing on the original art as well as some cut and pasted paper. The lettering is also hand drawn. The price is $100 (+ shipping) and I will donate 50% of the proceeds to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. I will autograph the page and make it out to whomever you designate. Thank you again so much for being great fans and hopefully we’ll see more of the ICECUBES ‘cool crew’ in 2022!

Ha, ha, ha! 🙂 Check out this comic book cover from 1937! So similar to the cover page for ICECUBES’ first book ‘Noise Is News.’ I just saw this today and it made me smile. I had no idea I was channeling one of my all time favorites Mutt & Jeff cartoonist Bud Fischer. Oh well, great minds think alike. And take note that I only have a dozens copies of the first edition left, so get it while you can at http://www.chateaubooks.com

Tintin & Joe Pipo on Free Comic Book Day.

Posted on May 8, 2017 by Leroy Brown
Tintin by Leroy Brown Had a busy FCBD on Saturday. I went to Bedrock City Comics where I met Image Comics published authors Kody Chamberlain and Rob Guillory and I showed them Joe Pipo. Kody encouraged me to keep pitching to Image and other publishers. Bedrock City also said they like and support Joe Pipo, so this led me to think about perhaps crowd funding the first printing. What do you think? Would you support a Joe Pipo Kickstarter? Also met a great fan Adrian to give him his commissioned drawing of Tintin! 🙂 If you would like to commission a drawing just email me: icecubescomic@yahoo.com

Drawing Joe Pipo.

ICECUBES drawing table / Joe Pipo Hi folks, lately I’ve been concentrating on my graphic novel called “The Adventures of Joe Pipo in New York.” It’s a completely different format from ICECUBES and the drawing style is a lot more detail oriented. I enjoy the challenge but it takes time! I am hoping to submit the project to publishers real soon, keep your fingers crossed. You can like & follow Joe Pipo on Facebook here: –> https://www.facebook.com/joepipocomic/
