Classic Animated Strip! #0013

Posted on July 16, 2014 by Leroy Brown

Here's a very early strip that was originally published in black and white. It was featured in the ICECUBES book 'Noise Is News' and was then colored. I remember struggling with the pencil and the inking on this strip, as it required a lot of detail and I was still pretty green at the time. I thought you might enjoy seeing the process animated! :)

Thanks JP! That strip gave me some problems trying to fit everything in such a small space. Now I know why the old timers used to draw so big! 🙂

Wimpy! and of course a locomotive that squirts water… because, well… In other news, I’ve decided to do away with the members only area. It was too complicated to maintain. So now you can read all the strips going back to #200. Anything before that is in the book!

Congrats to Eddy Obomsawin of Quebec, for winning the first prize in ourBelgium Comics Contest last month! Eddy answered the tricky question of naming all the characters in the drawing below in French! (I guess he had a little advantage of being in a French speaking part of the country 😉 His prize was a signed ICECUBES book. Thanks for sending us the picture Eddy! 🙂
